What IRIS model should I use?

From v2.0, IRIS Clarity now comes with 3 models to choose from. Earlier versions of the app come with the 16kHz model.

IRIS recommendation

IRIS recommends using, where possible, the new Telephony model. This can be applied to both the microphone and the speaker.

Telephony only = 8kHz mic | 8kHz speaker

Mixed usage (video and telephony) = 48kHz mic | 16kHz speaker

Video only = 48kHz mic | 48kHz speaker

IRIS Clarity models

48kHz model - Video conferencing

This is our highest quality model. To be used in video calls (Meets, Teams, Zoom, etc.) or on the Agent/mic side of the call, particularly if the agents swap between multiple platforms (a telephony platform and a video calling platform).

The speaker side also comes with our latest and best ringtone detector.

The model should not be set as the speaker model for any telephony.

16kHz - Mixed usage

This is the model that already is in the app. It used to be linked to the Softphone mode setting for the speaker and Low bandwidth mode setting for the microphone.

This model is a great general model if you move regularly between telephony and video conferencing calls. It will sound good in both environments (note, the 16Khz model comes with our older ringtone detection feature).

8kHz - Telephony

This is a model built for telephony. Telephony runs at 8kHz (which is why phone call audio sound distinctly like a phone call).

This model can be used both on the agent and customer (mic and speaker) side of the call. The speaker side also comes with our latest and best ringtone detector.

This model should not be used if the agent is going to be swapping between multiple platforms (a telephony platform and a video calling platform).
